I found myself digging around the internet for some good news today. Turns out, it exists. Turns out, there are people postively impacting this world that we all share. Here’s what I found:
-THE COMFORT DOGS HAVE ARRIVED IN ORLANDO (let’s hear it for those pups!)
-Americans gave THE MOST MONEY TO CHARITY EVER in 2015 ($373.25 BILLION! High-five, America!)
-Canadian man buys pet store’s ENTIRE INVENTORY OF FOOD and donates all of it to local animal shelters (let’s hear it for our four legged friends sleeping with full bellies tonight!)
-Two Kansas mamas start the FIRST EVER ALLERGY-FRIENDLY FOOD PANTRY to aide families struggling to afford special diets for their kids (YOU GET A GLUTEN FREE MUFFIN! AND YOU GET A GLUTEN FREE MUFFIN!)
-After a student attempts suicide, Colorado teacher WRITES 130 HAND WRITTEN NOTES to each student, emphasizing how special, unique, and important they each are (WHEN WE KNOW *WE* MATTER, WE REALIZE *OTHERS* MATTER, TOO! SOMEBODY GIVE THAT TEACHER A WHOLE APPLE TREE)
-Bill Gates launches a campaign to DONATE CHICKENS TO AFRICAN FAMILIES IN NEED (As Uncle Ben tells Spiderman, “With great power comes great responsibility…to give chickens”)
-Chicago police pick up the slack by escorting girls without fathers to ‘Daddy Daughter Dance’ (I can’t be sure, but I think it was Spiderman’s Uncle Ben who also said: “The only thing sexier than a man in uniform is a man in uniform who is a good role model)
Guys. Hope is important. So is grief. But one does not have to eclipse the other.
Lots of love to you all!
