It’s funny how life works.
Lately, I’ve been feeling so very full in some areas–and missing others. I love being Charlee’s mama, Luna’s doggy mama, and TJ’s wife. If, as a child, I had seen this little portrait called My Adult Life, I’d be happy. Surprised that my hair is not permed, perhaps, but happy, nonetheless.
But, man, as an artist, I miss time to myself to create. And when I do have it–which is basically rare late night moments, when I’m exhausted–I wonder what I have left to give.
Which is why it’s funny that now, during this busy and consuming season, I’m being published for the first time.
That’s right. My writing is being published in a real live magazine. These people don’t know me; they aren’t doing me favors. They simply like some words I put together. It’s really exciting for me.
Sometimes when you feel like nothing is happening, a dream knocks on your door and asks you if it can please come in and be part of your life.
Things are happening; things are always happening, guys. Our job is to just keep doing our best with what we have.
